At 4.21 pm today police were advised that a car had collided with a train on State Highway One near the intersection with Barker Road just north of Winchester.
The sole male occupant was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free. He the vehicle and is being flown to hospital by helicopter. The injuries were described as moderate
Detours have been put in place.
