Government response to Auckland Governance

The Government’s response provides finality in that change will occur and quickly, it provides fairer representation and clarity on service delivery, and removes some of the “rules for Auckland but not for the rest of NZ” that was suggested in the Royal Commission version, says Michael Barnett, Chief Executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce.

For Auckland it delivers less duplication of cost and function, and for business it provides one point of contact – the proof in time will be if it will be easier and better to do business with.
