Traffic build up in Canterbury

Please advise the public via radio that SH 1 both north and south of christchurch are carrying very heavy volumes of traffic.
Delays can be expected especially at Rakaia where traffic is starting to clear after a crash on the Rakaia bridge.
Patience is required and if drivers feel they are getting stressed then they should stop well of the road and have a walk around to relax and have a cup of tea.
Safe driving and a happy easter is what we want for everyone.
