Update in regards to Watts Home invasion in Counties Manukau
The Police are investigating another sighting of a suspicious person leaving the retirement village at about 7pm on Wednesday evening, 8th April.
That person is described as a male in his mid to late 20's, wearing dark trousers and a dark top and was observed jogging out the rear gates when a witness, who had been visiting a family member, left the premises. He was then seen to communicate with another person further down the road says Detective Senior Sergeant MALTHUS.
We are investigating whether this person may have simply been taking a short cut through the premises, states Ms Malthus, so we would like to identify that man and the person he was talking with so that we can ascertain his purpose for being on the property. He was last seen on the corner of Inverill and Islay Streets shortly after 7pm.
Ms Malthus adds that the Police are appreciative of the phone calls and information received from the public to date, and that Police officers are still going door to door in the area speaking with locals and residents, and urges anyone with information about this attacker or incident to call the Police on 0800SEVENTH - 0800 738368.
VICTIM
The victim condition is improving, however he is still suffering from discomfort and is easily tired. Once again, the family have asked that the media respect their privacy over this important Easter holiday period.
Thank you.
