Two 23 year old females have been rescued from the Rimutaka Forest Park tonight by the Police Search and Rescue Team.
The pair embarked on an unplanned day walk earlier today and were very underprepared. They were not carrying any wet weather gear or torches and lacked sufficient experience for the walk.
Shortly after 6pm one of the pair sent a text message to a family member to say they were lost. The Police search and rescue team were called out and walked the pair out of the area at approximately 11pm tonight.
