Body located Mt Albert in Waitemata District

A post mortem examination was held earlier this afternoon on the body of a person Police believe is a 59 year old man, who was found dead at the rear of a Mt Albert address this morning. Emergency services had been called to the address just before 6.30 am following reports of a fire.
Initial results of that examination as well as other enquiries carried out by Police during the morning lead them to believe that the death no longer appears suspicious.
A formal identification of the man has not been made, however next of kin have been informed.
