2 road crashes in Northland, 12pm

Whangarei Police are dealing with two separate road crashes in close proximity to the CBD which is causing major congestion.
Lower Tarewa Road is completely blocked between Porowini and Central ave/Walton st.
There are crashes at each end of Lower Tarewa Road. Both are injury crashes.
The first at intersection of Morningside and Tarewa is a two car crash. One person has been transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The second crash is also a two car crash and is further along Tarewa towards intersection with Central Av/Walton St.
The Fire service has been called to this second crash to remove a person from the vehicle.
Police advise people wishing to access the CBD from the Westside to use Maunu Road.
It is not believed that there is any connection between the two crashes
