No action taken by Police against Tokoroa victim

Tokoroa Detectives have now completed their detailed investigation into this matter.
In concluding the investigation phase, Detective Senior Sergeant Todd Pearce has confirmed that no action will be taken by Police regarding the actions of the victim during the commission of this crime.
He also said 'We were unable to categorically rule out such action until the investigation had been completed and until all the information potentially available had been gathered and examined. Unfortunately the early publicity and speculation over this particular issue has served only to cause further distress to this victim, and has overtaken what was a committed investigation by Tokoroa Detectives resulting in the arrest of two men within 24 hours of the offence'.
No further comment will be made.
