AOS callout in Central District, 4:00pm

Police were called to a Hastings property at 3.30 this afternoon following reports of a male inside the address acting in a threatening manner.

The male was in a highly agitated state when police first arrived and cordons were subsequently set up to contain the situation.

The Armed Offenders Squad and negotiators were called out as a result and after period of time were able to talk the male out of the house and take him into custody without incident
