WELLINGTON

Live screening of Parliament begins at 2pm today.

The coverage marks new rules regarding what can be done with footage shot in parliament and the most talked about issue in the media has been the Anti-Satire rules.

www.parliament.nz lays the threat of repercutions for breaching rules out in the Terms and conditions.

"Breach of these conditions may result in a loss of access to coverage, and may be treated as a contempt of the House of Representatives and proceeded against accordingly."

Several leading New Zealand news agencies have publicly opposed the new rules and it is expected media will push the limits of the rules regularly during the next few months.
