Christchurch Homicide investigation launched - Operation NIKAU

Christchurch Police have commenced a homicide investigation after the discovery of two deceased persons believed to be a male and a female at residential address in Olliviers Road, Christchurch early in the evening of Friday 8 May 2009. Police were called to the address by a neighbour who had become concerned about the occupant of the address whom they had not seen for several days.
Acting Detective Inspector David Long said 'I am not position to advise any further details as the investigation is in its early stages, other than to say the deaths are being treated as suspicious given the circumstances known at present.'
Police are speaking with residents in the area and making inquiries to establish the identity of those involved.
