Homicide in Auckland City District, 3:40pm 15 May 2009

Police investigating the discovery of a woman's body at Western Springs can now confirm that they are investigating a homicide.

A Post Mortem this morning revealed that the woman's death was caused by someone else.

Due to the level of decomposition of the woman's body police have been unable to positively identify her, however they believe they know who she is and are in the process of locating family overseas.

The Warwick Street address is still cordoned off and several enquiries are yet to be carried out by the homicide team.
