Strong winds in Canterbury District, 12:00pm

Police would like the public to take care when driving on inland Canterbury roads due to high winds in the area.

Met service have released a severe weather warning for the South island which included high winds in Canterbury.

Police have attended 3 crashes involving 2 caravans and a high sided truck being blown over in the wind on State Highway 73,and at Rakaia gorge.
