Police National Manager Prosecutions steps aside

The Commissioner of Police, Howard Broad, said today that he had decided it was in the best interests of Police that Superintendent Graham Thomas step aside from the role of National Manager: Police Prosecution Service.

"Superintendent Thomas agrees and accepts that this is appropriate," said Mr Broad.

Superintendent Thomas has expressed his regret and has acknowledged the effect his behaviour had on the Commissioner, the organisation and his colleagues within Police.

Mr Thomas will remain employed by Police at the rank of Superintendent, working in the area of criminal justice improvement

Police will not be making any further comment on this statement.
