Fatal crash, car - v - tree. in Bay of Plenty District, 10:00pm 23 May

A car with 2 occupants has crashed into a tree on Richard Street, Opotiki.
The car caught fire with both occupants inside.
The fire was extinguished and the passenger was found to be dead.
At the time of writing emergency services are still working to rescue the driver from the car.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is on the scene, as are Fire and Ambulance.
