Car V Power Pole near Waimate

At about 2230hrs on the 31 May 2009 a vehicle travelling on Moorland Settlement Road near Waimate, ran off the road and collided with a concrete power pole.
The only occupant of the vehicle was a male aged 18 years who died as a result of the crash.
The Police will be carrying out a full investigation.
The matter will be referred to the coroner.
No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.
