Police seek German tourists who witnessed assault in Wellington
Wellington Police are investigating a serious assault that occurred about 1am on 1st June 2009, in Hawker Street, Mt Victoria, Wellington.
Acting Detective Sergeant Andrew Compton, Wellington CIB, said a 29 year old female was punched and kicked by a male before being able to seek assistance from two females who were walking past.
'The two females assisted the victim at the scene and walked with her from Mt Victoria to Wellington hospital where she sought medical treatment'.
Acting Detective Sergeant Andrew Compton said the Police were seeking to identify two females that assisted the victim, along with anyone else who may have witnessed or heard the assault.
'The victim has told us that while walking to the hospital the females have identified themselves as German tourists.'
Acting Detective Sergeant Andrew Compton said the Police were still making enquiries to locate the 32 year old male, who is known to the victim, in relation to the assault. The victim has since been treated for facial injuries she received and released from Wellington hospital.
