Fatal crash, (2 dead). in Northland District, 2:00am 12 Jun 2009

At 01.38 am this morning Whangarei police were called to Anzac Road, Morningside, Whangarei. A car with 5 teenage girls went out of control down a steep bank and ended up on the lawn of a property along Anzac Road. The Fire Brigade and Ambulance also attended the scene. 2 of the backseat passengers died in the crash and had to be cut free from the wreck by the Fire Brigade. The remaining 3 occupants survived with minor injuries.It appears from investigation done so far that some of the passengers were not wearing seat belts.Alcohol appears to NOT be a factor.
