Armed offender incident in Rotorua

At 11.10 am police were called by the Rotorua Probation Service to say a man was in their reception area claiming to have a firearm with him.
Units were deployed and the Armed Offenders Squad was called out.
At 12.05 the man was taken into custody. He is assisting police with their enquiries.
Any further details will be released in due course by Rotorua Police.
