Car Collides with Train in Canterbury District, 2:00pm

At approximately 2.00 pm a car and train collided at a rail crossing near Rakaia.

Emergency Services have rushed to the scene.

Two people have died as a result of the collision and a third occupant injured.

The injured person is being flown to hospital.
