Missing Motorist in Canterbury District, 4:00pm

Police are seeking the assistance of the public to locate Jonathan McCARTHY who has gone missing between Christchurch and Kaikoura.
 

Mr McCARTHY, aged 50,  was last seen when he left home this morning shortly before 7.00 am.  He was expected in Kaikoura at around 9.30am but failed to appear.
 

A search being conducted along the roadside by police staff, using vehicles and a helicopter, has failed to locate him.
 

Mr McCARTHY was driving a grey 1990 Subaru Legacy station wagon registered number WR5218
 

Any person who may have information as to Mr McCARTHY's whereabouts is asked to contact the Christchurch Police.
