Fatal Crash in Bay of Plenty District, 6:00am

Police and other emergency services are currently at the scene of a single fatality crash on State Highway 5 (SH5) in the vicinity of Fitzgerald Glade in the Bay of Plenty.

As a result of the crash SH5 through the Mamaku Ranges is closed until further notice.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes if intending to travel between the Rotorua and Tauranga regions.
Motorists are further cautioned that roads in the region are icy and due care should be taken in driving to the conditions.
