Icy roads - caution advised

Tauranga Police are asking drivers to take care this morning when using roads in some of the more elevated rural areas.

Police have received a number of reports overnight of icy conditions in the upper Kaimai's, on the Tauranga Direct Road through to Rotorua (via Pyes Pa), and in the Te Matai Road and upper Oropi Road areas.

It is expected that other roads at higher levels in the area will also be heavily iced.

While all roads are currently open, Police expect the conditions to continue to worsen and ask that drivers using any of these roads be very careful.
