Enquiries continue into Kiwi rail crash

Yesterday afternoon at 1350 hrs a Holden Motor Vehicle was traveling in a westerly direction along Hatfield/Overdale Road* Rakaia when it was struck by a Kiwi rail train traveling south, at an uncontrolled rail crossing.
As a result of the crash, two male person's were killed and a third was air-lifted to CHCH Hospital.
Police enquiries are continuing into the crash.
The deceased person's names are:
James Allan BYRON 28 yrs (Rakaia resident)
Jonathon WARDS 31 yrs (Methven resident)
