CHRISTCHURCH

The inquiry into the shooting of Mr Shayne Sime in Burnside, Christchurch, on Sunday night continues today. The post mortem should be completed today.

The scene examination of Mr Sime's house has begun as the area outside the house is completed. Other properties are being searched as reports of damage come in. These include a kindergarten on Greers Road and several houses in Guildford Street.

"Bullets went further than the cul de sac," says Detective Superintendent Brett Kane. "We are still asking people to check their properties for any damage."

Wadhurst Place is still closed however some residents have been allowed in under police supervision to retrieve essential items. All Wadhurst Place and part of Guildford Street are closed to the public and traffic but police are hopeful Guildford Street will reopen later today.
