Bus crash in Tasman District, 3:00pm

At about 3.20 pm on the 29th of June 2009, a Ritchies bus carrying 16 children home from school crashed into a power pole on Blue Spur Road, Hokitika.

Fortunately there were no injuries apart from minor bumps and bruises sustained by the students. The driver sustained a minor sprain to her ankle.

Police have concluded the inquiry and the 49 year old bus driver will appear in the Greymouth District Court on a charge of Careless Driving at a later date.
