Armed Offenders Callout in Canterbury District, 11:30am

At 11:27hrs on Wednesday the 1 July 2009 the Police were informed that shots had been fired in Hills Road, Mairehau, Christchurch.

As a precaution Mairehau High school was locked down and the area surrounding the Hills Road address was cordoned by Police.

The Armed Offenders Squad went to the address and two males were located. They are now helping Police with there enquiries.

No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired after the original report from the member of the Public.
