Crash near Athol

In a separate matter to the bus crash at Te Anau Downs, Lumsden Police are attending a vehicle crash on the Athol-Five Rivers Highway (State Highway 6) near the Highway Cafe at Athol, also involving a bus.

Two passengers are believed to have suffered minor injuries. It is believed that icy road conditions are a factor in this crash too.

As per another media release, police are urging motorists to take extreme care when driving in and around the Southland area this morning.
