Shootings in Kaingaroa

About 9.30 am on 12 July 2009 an incident occurred in Daniel Street, Kaingaroa where shots were fired from a moving car at occupants of another car in front.

Two persons were shot, one to the hand and the other to the arm.

Police attended at Kaingaroa and secured the scene and rescued one of the injured persons. The other injured person was taken out of Kaingaroa by family members and was located by an ambulance already on the way to Kaingaroa. Both victims were taken to Rotorua Hospital.

A third person suffered knife wounds to his forearms after he got involved in the dispute. He is now also at hospital receiving treatment.

Police investigating the incident later located 2 suspects at an address in Taupo. They are now assisting police with their enquiries.
