Black ice on State Highway One, Waiouru

Police are advising motorists to be aware of icy conditions on the roads around Waiouru.

There have been 3 separate crashes on State Highways One and 49 near Waiouru this morning which are likely to be as a result of vehicles encountering black ice on the roads.

Motorists should exercise caution in these areas or defer travel until later in the day if possible.
