Crash involving cyclists, diversion in place

Police are currently at the scene of an accident on SH1, just south of Pokeno.

This involved a motor vehicle and two cyclists. Emergency services are currently at the scene attending to the two injured cyclists and the road will be closed for a period of time for a scene examination to be conducted.

Police advise that all southbound traffic on SH1 to Hamilton will be diverted onto SH2 towards Mangatawhiri and then onto Koheroa Road to rejoin SH1 at Mercer.
