Waitakere - Criminal Investigation Branch.

The Waitakere Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two people found dead at a Henderson address.

The police have named the people concerned as Kathleen Regina Kim Flowers aged 47 years and her son Dominic Flowers 8 years.

The police are looking for no one else relating to these deaths.

The exact cause of death has not yet determined and could be several weeks before test results are known.

The scene examination has been completed.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown states "This is tragic for all concerned. Relations of the deceased are devastated and friends of Dominic will find out on Monday that one of their friends is dead and will not be returning to school".

The matter is still under investigation and when completed will be reported to the Coroner.
