Police investigate mans death

Counties-Manukau Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 44 year old Mangere man who died during a domestic altercation late on Saturday night.

Police and Ambulance were called to the Mangere address just before midnight on Saturday 18 July 2009 and found the man deceased.

Initial enquiries suggest the man was involved in a fight with a male family member and died during, or shortly after the fight.

Members of the dead man's family are co-operating fully with the Police investigation and Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A Post-Mortem examination will be conducted to determine how the male died & these results will determine the future direction of the Police investigation.

UPDATE
A Post-Mortem examination has been completed this afternoon. As a result police are satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

The matter will now be referred to the Coroner.

The deceased Man was Malakai Halatanu of Mangere.
