State Highway one and Centennial Park Road Wellsford

Police are investigating a fatal road crash at Wellsford township

The crash involved two vehicles on State highway one on the southern outskirts of town.

One person has died and a second is in a serious condition. The second person is being flown to Auckland hospital.

Serious crash investigators are making their way to the scene.

The road is closed and diversions are in place near to SH1 and Centennial park Road. Transit contractors are also their way to the scene with diversion signage
