Police seek to identify child hit by bus

AUCKLAND

Police are seeking the the identity of a passenger on the bus involved in the collision with the pedestrian this morning.

The passenger is described as male, 12 to 13 years old, fair skinned, large build. He was wearing blue shorts and a light blue top.

He got on the bus on Mt Wellington Highway just before the Countdown Supermarket and was transferred to another bus just after the collision.

Police are attending a collision between a bus and a child in Barrack Road, Mt Wellington.

The child is described as a girl about 12 years old, and she is described as being in a serious condition.

Barrack Road is closed, and Penrose Road is down to one lane for the part on either side of Barrack Road.

The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene.
