Australian U19 Badminton, Championships, Melbourne - results - one win, one final

New Zealand won the men's doubles final at the Australian U19 Badminton Championships in Melbourne as Waikatere's Luke Charlesworth combined with North Harbour's Brock Matheson to beat their Australian opponents in three long games.

Counties Manukau's Praveen Taylan was unable to take the men's singles as he was beaten by Australian Ashwant Gobinathan in straight games.

All players have been competing in the US$50,000 Australian Open Grand Prix event before moving to New Zealand for the Open, also worth US$50,000 starting next week at the North Shore Events Centre.
