ANZ Championship final results

In front of a capacity home crowd at Hisense Arena, Melbourne Vixens have been crowned 2009 ANZ Championship Premiers, beating the Adelaide Thunderbirds 54-46.

After 17 weeks of thrilling on-court action and off-court success, it was a fitting and hard fought finale to the 2009 ANZ Championship.

Vixens co-captain, Bianca Chatfield, showed her excitement after the game,

"It's just fantastic. It is what we have aimed for all season and to win by that much - well it's just awesome!
This is the best competition in the world, this is definitely up there as a career highlight!."

Co-captain Sharelle McMahon didn't find words quite as easy to come by,

"I don't know if I can put it into words right now. We have worked so hard for this all season, it just feels amazing."
