HUNTLY

Waikato Police have established a cordon around a property in northern Huntly as they seek to establish what occurred at a Kihikihi address earlier this morning.

Acting Western Waikato Area Commander, Senior Sergeant Dave Simes, said officers were called to a Kihikihi motorcycle shop this morning in relation to a complaint of some motorbikes being taken.

"As a result of this an alert identifying a vehicle believed to have been involved has gone out to various Waikato Police units and a patrol in Huntly has spotted what they believe is a car involved in the earlier incident.

"Because of the possible threat of firearms members of the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad have been called to the incident as Police work towards bringing the situation to a successful conclusion."
