Three Kiwis raced in Rome over night with Hayley Palmer the only one to progress to the semis in her favored 100 Free with a 54.10sec swim.

Palmer hit the wall first in the semi with a strong first 50, but with some of the worlds best racing in the middle she couldn't hold out to finish inside the qualifying for the final.

Palmer's race semi was a better race than her heat giving her an eleventh rank overall for the race.
