Staff threatened - Whitecross Medical Centre, 2140 Great North Road, Avondale

At 9.40 pm on Friday 7 August a male has entered Whitcross Medical Centre 2140 Great North Road, Avondale and threatened staff with a metal bar, demanding money.

The male is described as a European between 5' 10" to 6' 1" in height, of slim build, with light ginger/blond eye lashes who possibly spoke with an Scottish/Irish accent.

He was dressed in dark clothing and was wearing a black balaclava.

The male ran from the centre and drove off in a vehicle heading towards New Lynn. There is no description of the vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery and ask that anyone who was in the vicinity at the time that may have seen a male fitting the description or a vehicle speeding along Great North Road towards New Lynn to contact Detective Constable Simon Jones of the Avondale CIB on 09 820 5700.
