Ice on Napier-Taupo road

Police are advising motorists to take care on the Napier-Taupo Road, as the road is currently hazardous due to icy conditions.

Two (minor) crashes have occurred in the past 2 hours due to the icy conditions near the summit of the road. Contractors have been called to the area to treat the ice with grit - caution is advised in the meantime.
