Police are looking for a repeat commercial burglar believed to be responsible for taking high value items from Wellington commercial premises.

Steffen Patmore, a 36 year old Wellington man, is known to target businesses and retailers, sometimes taking thousands of dollars worth of stock.

Goods taken in the burglaries include varied products made from possum and merino, cigarettes, sports brand clothing and expensive jewelry.

Police noted that when Patmore was offending in Auckland, commercial burglaries of the same nature ceased in Wellington. It is believed he has returned to Wellington to evade a warrant to arrest issued in Auckland, as commercial burglaries of a similar nature are being committed again.

Police say Patmore is also known to enter unattended loading bays during the day and carry boxes of stock away. He disguises his image by wearing a fake moustache, large hats and sunglasses.

Patmore is described as a male Caucasian who is 182cm tall.

Shopkeepers are reminded to keep their stock deliveries and pickups secure and to call Police if they see anyone suspicious lingering near warehouses and delivery areas.
