Home owner finds four buglars, disarms them and blocks their escape

Police were called to Sager Road, Whatawhata in Waikato after a home owner found 4 burglars at his address, one of whom was armed with a shotgun.

The homeowner managed to disarm the offender who had the gun and hid it in some scrub. The burglars retreated to the house while the home owner and a neighbour blocked the driveway with a vehicle and waited for police.

Armed police attended and surrounded the sccene. The offenders walked out to the road prior to the arrival of the Armed Offender Squad and gave themselves up.

All 4 offenders were taken into custody. The shot gun was recovered.
