Art for Autism.... Without Boundaries

On Thursday 3rd June "Art for Autism Without Boundaries, Charity Cocktail Evening and Auction" will be held at Auckland's Stamford Plaza. Original collaborative paintings by 12 autistic children and NZ artist Sofia Minson will go under the hammer to raise money for the ground breaking Transcending Autism programme.
TaO Charitable Trust has launched the "Art for Autism Without Boundaries, Charity Cocktail Evening and Auction" and tickets are selling fast.
100% of the money raised will go to the Transcending Autism programme, which will ultimately be implemented into a state-of-the-art centre called The Cocoon. The Cocoon will be New Zealand's first architecturally designed, eco-aware, creative development centre for children and families living with autism.
The event's purpose is to celebrate the creative artworks on offer, raise funds for this worthy cause, and also raise awareness of the issues facing New Zealand's estimated 40,000 people living with autism.
New Zealand portrait and landscape artist Sofia Minson has been collaborating with autistic children from around Auckland to produce 12 unique acrylic masterpieces. All measuring 920mm high x 610mm wide, the paintings were "enormously fun and rewarding to create together" says Sofia.
The artist, who's oil works are in collections all over the world, has also donated one of her own paintings to the cause valued at over $2,000. Therefore 13 paintings will be auctioned off in total at the "Art for Autism Without Boundaries" evening.
Receive a glass of champagne on arrival and canapes will be offered at 6.30pm. Raffle tickets will be sold and prizes drawn on the night.
