Suspicious person making sexual advances towards females
At approximately 3 pm on Monday 17th August, 2009, a woman, who is heavily pregnant was walking along Rocks Road Tahunanui, near the Library when she was approached by an unknown male who made sexual comments to her.
This male was observed seated in a bus shelter, and on seeing the female approaching, he stood up and propositioned her for sex.
The woman ignored him and continued walking but was followed by the male who attempted to grab her by the arm. The woman yelled at the male who ran off.
He is described at being Caucasian, aged 30-40 years, 5 foot 10 inches tall, stocky (chubby) build and clean shaven with short dark hair.
He was wearing a black cap, a dark coloured jumper with a hood attached and a single white stripe down each sleeve, and dark coloured cotton track pants.
Of note the male spoke with a stutter and may also have mental health issues.
Due to the nature of the incident Police are asking females in the Tahunanui area to take extra care when walking alone, and also to be aware of the description of the male.
Police are seeking public assistance to identify and locate him.
