Japanese National To Appear In Court

A lengthy investigation into a series of sexual assaults has resulted in North Shore Police arresting a 21 year old male overnight.

Police say a Japanese national was arrested last night Tuesday 18 August 2009 in Browns Bay. He has remained in custody pending a court appearance.

Police have spent the past five months investigating five incidents of sexual assault in which five separate victims have each described the offender as being an Asian male.

The 21 year old man will appear in the North Shore District Court today on five charges of indecent assault.
