BALCLUTHA

At about 10.04am this morning the Telecom 111 service received a phone call from an anonymous person to say that there was a bomb at the Balclutha District Court.

As a result the Balclutha Court-house was evacuated by Police
and Court services shut down for a period of about 35 minutes.

The buildings were searched for packages and nothing suspicious was located.

The call has come from a phone booth outside the Highway Diner in Clyde Street, Balclutha.

The voice was described as a male, possibly in his 20's.

Police are continuing their enquiries into this incident and would like to hear from anyone who knows about the incident.

We would especially like to hear from anyone who saw the Highway Diner phone booth being used this morning around 10.00am.
