Fatal crash in Warkworth

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on State Highway One at the intersection with Valerie Close, Warkworth. A car and a motorcycle are involved. One person is dead. State Highway One is closed with diversions in place at State Highway One and Woodcocks Road intersection, and State Highway One at Silverdale. No further information is available at this stage. Further information will be posted if and when it becomes available.

Police are asking members of the Public that witnessed the driving behaviour of a White Toyota Altezza saloon and a Silver Subaru Legacy saloon between Auckland Airport and the intersection of State Highway One / Valerie Close this evening, to contact Police as soon as possible. These vehicles were involved in the fatal crash in Warkworth involving a motorcyclist and it is believed that the manner of driving of these two cars may have come to the attention of other motorists prior to the crash.
