20-year-old dead after hitting power pole

At around 1.40am this morning emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on the Wakanui Road / Milton Road intersection at South Elgin.

The 20 year old male driver who was the sole occupant of the car died at the scene after he left the road and collided with a power pole.
