Man dead after hitting bank

At around 2.40am this morning emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on SHW85 the Palmerston – Dunback Road at Stoneburn. The 54 year old male driver who was the sole occupant of the car died at the scene after he left the road and collided with a bank.

No further details are available at this time as next of kin have yet to be advised.

SHW 85 will be closed at the crash scene until around 8.00 am. Signed detours are in place.
